Compass Diversified sales and income increase in Q3 | Bicycle Retailer and Industry News
(BRAIN) — Compass Diversified saw a net sales increase of 11.8% in its third quarter and recorded net income in the quarter of $31.5 million — compared to a net loss of $3.8 million in the same quarter last year.
Compass owns two well-known brands in the cycling industry: BOA, which makes dial fasteners used on cycling shoes, helmets and other products, and Primaloft, which makes fabrics used in cycling and outdoor apparel. Compass also is the former owner of Fox Factory, CamelBak and Marucci (the baseball/software brand now owned by Fox Factory. Marucci also is the parent of Lizard Skins and Oury).
BOA and PrimaLoft each saw revenue increases in the third quarter and the first three quarters of the fiscal year. BOA sales were $45.6 million in the quarter, up 22.3% from the quarter last year. PrimaLoft sales were $13.7 million in the quarter, up 25.2%. For the nine months, BOA sales were up 25.8% to $142.7 million and PrimaLoft sales were up 6.8% to $61.5 million.
Compass' total sales in the quarter were $582.6 million. The company's other segments include 5.11 (a first-responder equipment brand), Ergobaby, Lugano, The Honey Pot Co., Velocity Outdoor, Altor, Arnold and Sterno. Compass is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the CODI symbol.
